Robbie came into my life and turned it upside down! I had never known such a bundle of energy.

From the start my intention was to do Working Trials with Robbie, but while I was waiting for him to reach the required age to start working, 18months, I decided to enter him in a local Obedience Show, just for experience. To my amazement he won a 4 way run off to gain 2 nd place!

His trialling career took off with equal gusto. I well remember a WD Track at Scarborough where Robbie completed the whole track, and found the articles in 6 minutes flat! (The time allowed is usually 20mins for track and search square)

By April 1998 he was a TDEx (Tracking Dog Excellent) Dog at 3years 4months old.

By this time we had also started to become interested in Heelwork To Music and I was persuaded to have a go at the only show which demonstrated this sport in those days, Rugby DTC.
We entered their Show in 1998 dancing to Capercaille's Grandfather Mountain, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Well we were hooked and soon concentrated on the HTM rather than the Working Trials, and the rest, as they say, is history.

This wonderful little dog gave me so many amazing experiences, working with Children at Crufts on the YKC Stand as it was then known, Demonstrating at Discover Dogs and at Crufts in 2003, qualifying for Crufts and placed 6th when it became a competition in 2005, 3rd at Crufts in 2006, and finally his last performance at Crufts in 2007 where he was placed 6th .

We're in the Money

In 2007 Robbie started having some problems with one of his hind legs, an X-Ray showed Spondylosis of the spine, so I decided that as he had qualified for the Crufts Freestyle Competition he would perform his last routine there and then, hopefully have a long and happy retirement.

He danced and was placed 6th; the routine was 'If I Were A Rich Man'.

We had “a bit of a do” at All About Dogs to celebrate his retirement, but his lameness got worse, so a hip replacement operation was suggested. More X-Rays were taken and then, sadly, the news was bad, Robbie had Cancer in his spine, and patches on his lungs and other organs. It was time to let him go which we did on the 18 th June.

A fabulous little dog who leaves a huge hole in my heart.
